That sounds pretty good. Once I get a few more flavors I want to start playing around with some blending. I didn't think I'd really care for the double apple flavor but I like it. It's a great morning smoke with my coffee.

Well, I tried doing a clove blend again and this time it worked much better. I simmered the crushed cloves in a the honey/glycerin soup and then added the tobacco, stirring it in so it was well covered in the juices. Letting that simmer on low heat for a short time really infused the clove flavor throughout the tobacco well. It smoked quite well, in fact. So, I may be onto something. Next I will try it with some fruity flavors and see how it comes out.

The experimenting is coming along pretty well. Yesterday I added a bit of spearmint to the apple shisha that I had made earlier and it smoked quite well. It helped soak up some of the excess molasses and glycerin that was one of the problems I encountered. It tasted good with just a hint of spearmint behind the apple. I liked it better than the clove apple I tried a couple of days ago. Well, back to the mortar and pestle. :)

Mmmmm fill your bowl with your favorite cherry flavored shisha then put about 1/8th cup of lime juice in the vase with ice and water. Absolutely wonderful. The lime blends very well with the cherry.

Well, DOuCme12, I read articles that differed in whether one should first cook the fruit or just use it raw. I tried it raw first (easiest route, right? LOL). I may try it cooked later as cooking might bring the flavor out a bit more strongly. As for the molasses I just use good ol' light molasses I got from a grocery store. The vegetable glycerin I bought from a health food store in my area. I called several stores and pharmacies before one of them directed me to the health food store. They had it in two different quantities so I just bought the small one to begin with. It was about $4.00 and I'm sure it will last for quite a while. I just used a small food processor to finely chop the apple, mixed roll ur own tobacco into the fruit until the mixture looked "right." Then I added the molasses and glycerin and mixed them together. I let them sit overnight to allow the flavors to blend, covered with cellophane in a small 3 oz plastic cup. Just let it "cure" at room temperature. There may be no need to let it "cure" but I thought it a good idea so I tried it. Really, it's all experimentation for me right now, too. Just trying different things to see how it comes out. Good luck with it. You can try cooking the fruit first or try it raw. Have fun.

Nick, yeah, you bet. Might be a while before I get the recipe down pat but I'll keep that in mind! DouCme12, so far the biggest disappointment with it is that it was just a bit too damp, or maybe runny is a better way to say it. LOL I need to use a bit less of the molasses and glycerin, maybe dry outt the fruit a little before mixing it in, too, so it will absorb more of the binding liquids. Flavorwise, though, it was not bad. A little light but ok. I'm thinking maybe adding more apple to the mixture will spruce that up some. Maybe adding a touch of clove or cinnamon . . . I'll let ya'll know how it works.
